Alexander Church broadens its already strong multi-disciplinary team through the use of strategic partners. Working with our strategic partners, we offer additional services in information security, stress and liquidity testing, data breach detection and fraud analytics, and software solutions. Below is a description of additional services provided by Alexander Church in connection with our strategic partners.
In the wake of the financial crisis of 2008-2009, Congress acting with our regulators imposed a series of stringent requirements on Large Banks to file Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Reviews (CCAR) intended to assess capital adequacy of their institutions during times of market disorder or crisis. Requirements to conduct these stress tests, otherwise known as DFAST, (after the Dodd-Frank Act) are required for bank holding companies with $10 to $50 billion in consolidated assets and foreign banks.
CCAR reporting is a highly rigorous skill-set that requires specialized expertise and the retention of reliable data. Regulatory scrutiny is intensive in this area due to the collective desire to avoid a 2008-2009 type crisis in the future. At a minimum, DFAST requires the following:
Whereas Large Banks have fully articulated requirements that are subject to great scrutiny, small and mid-size institutions fall subject to regulatory expectations to impose their own risk modeling and stress testing, albeit more suited to the nature of their institution. In addition to all of the above, stress testing analysis of client investment portfolios, such as proprietary mutual and private funds, have come under scrutiny by more than one regulator. This is an extension of regulatory expectations regarding the identification and implementation of operational risk management programs.
Many banks do not have the internal resources nor expertise to conduct these rigorous tests to meet their regulatory requirements. Alexander Church, through its partner Opex Analytics (www.opexanalytics.com) has the experience and considerable expertise to provide a Comprehensive and Capital Analysis utilizing the most innovative and sound methodology. Opex Analytics employs methodology that is specifically designed to ensure the use of reliable data, highly dependable predictive models and effective risk model scoring.
Our DFAST Modeling and Solution will be tailored to the size of your institution and will be mirror the Alexander Church/Opex Analytics hallmark of pragmatism and efficiency. Whether you are a Large Bank or smaller institution, we are prepared to offer you a solution to not only meet your regulatory requirements, but to provide Senior Management and the Board with reliable indicators necessary for the important work of managing the day to day business of the institution.
Our strategic partner, Rippleshot, (www.rippleshot.com) detects data breaches faster, allowing financial institutions to proactively monitor suspicious activities and implement smarter fraud risk management strategies when breaches do occur. Rippleshot's technology employs machine learning methods to detect the common point of compromise, identifying at-risk cards faster than ever. For issuing banks, Rippleshot then uses that information to build more intelligent real time decline rules and re-issuance strategies, saving clients 25%-50% on their fraud losses, while lowering customer disturbances. For acquiring banks, Rippleshot provides an intuitive dashboard of all merchants in the portfolio, allowing for constant monitoring and tracking of potential data breaches. Acquirers have the option to receive text or email alerts when the threat levels change or suspicious activity occurs. This allows for more time to assemble legal, technical and public relations responses.
